Farewell to Angus Whyte & Welcome to the New IJDC Editor

2025-08-18

We would like to share the news that Angus Whyte, long-time editor of the International Journal of Digital Curation (IJDC), has retired. Angus has been part of the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) since 2007, making invaluable contributions to digital curation, research data policy, and skills development worldwide. His editorial leadership has helped shape the IJDC’s direction, ensuring its continued relevance to the community and strengthening its role at the heart of the digital curation field.

As Angus embarks on a well-earned retirement, we extend our heartfelt thanks for his vision, dedication, and many years of service to the journal and the community.

We are delighted to announce that Laurence Horton has stepped into the role of IJDC Editor. Laurence joined the DCC in August 2021 and has played a pivotal role in our contributions to funded projects such as FAIRsFAIR, FAIR-Impact, and FIDELIS. He also serves as Programme Committee Chair for International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC). We are confident his expertise and leadership will guide the journal into an exciting new chapter.

Please join us in congratulating Laurence on his appointment and in wishing Angus the very best for his retirement.

Moving forward, we are also making a small change to how you can get in touch with the journal team. To streamline communications and ensure nothing is missed, we kindly ask that all future correspondence be sent to ijdc@ed.ac.uk. Our previous inbox will continue to be monitored for the time being, but this new address will now serve as the main point of contact for the IJDC.

 Kind regards,

IJDC Editorial Team
